what we believe and teach
We believe and teach the good news of eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who died for our sins upon the cross and rose again from the grave. We proclaim this good news in keeping with the Word of God revealed in the Bible, which is our only source of faith and teaching. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), exists to proclaim God’s Word to ourselves, our community, and our world.
God’s Word tells us:
• We are saved by God’s grace alone (Galatians 4:4-5; Romans 3:23-24; Romans 11:6; I John 1:7).
• We are saved through faith alone (John 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28).
• What we believe is from Scripture alone (Matthew 28:20; John 8:31; II Timothy 3:15-16).
These clear teachings point us to Jesus alone as the Savior of the world. Jesus gives us purpose in life, peace with God, and certainty for our eternal future.
